Altrec.com, a leading e-commerce retailer of performance outdoor gear and Greatoutdoors.com, an outdoor focused content site, is seeking to add an experienced intermediate level Web Developer to our growing team. We are a fast-paced organization, focused on exceeding the expectations of our customers and encouraging people to be in the Great Outdoors.
We are seeking a Developer with the ability to produce tight, crisp front end code for our online retail business. You will be involved heavily in building our brand and catapulting us into extreme growth. This is an outstanding opportunity for a developer with 3-5 years experience looking to contribute to an exciting company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop optimized/cross-platform front-end code in CSS/XHTML, JavaScript
· Work within various UI frameworks to efficiently create commercial grade Ajax solutions
· Using the Design and Usability teams’ visual and functional requirements, build and maintain templates, style sheets and site scripts
· This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be working with Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, User Experience Researchers, Backend Engineers, and Product Managers.
· Test and fix code for multi-browser compatibility and functionality
· Architect and develop a master CSS plan to be applied throughout the entire site
· Build, enhance and maintain the data models, interfaces and application integration required to support the Altrec.com and Greatoutdoors.com sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 3 - 5 yrs of web development experience
· Able to quickly code clean, compliant, validating and semantic DHTML & XHTML (Strong understanding of HTML standards and coding best practices)
· Experience with web design and familiarity with image editing software, such as PhotoShop, preferred
· Expertise in multi-browser testing and web-application compatibility on multiple platforms
· In-depth CSS and JavaScript expertise
DESIRED SKILLS:
· W3C DOM methods and properties
· Working knowledge of JS based animations
· Experience with ASP, JSP and Flash
· PHP not required but considered a plus
