Meetings are on the first weekday of the month!

PU.Camp is tomorrow!

Are you ready for PU.Camp? I sure hope so!

It's not too late to sign up to present... in fact it will only be too late when the last person leaves and we turn off the lights at McKay Cottage. Any topic "of interest" to the web developer audience is welcome; submissions are not limited to technical topics.

Even if you just come to watch... you don't want to miss this event! This will be an exciting and dynamic event for all!

Come to PU.Camp!
Saturday, March 1st ~ 5pm 'til we are done
McKay Cottage, Bend, OR
Food and beverages will be provided
Feel free to bring something to share!
Please RSVP at Upcoming, thanks!

*Previous karaoke experience is not required. :P

Documentary Film Needs Website

Be part of an adventure documentary in the making - Wild Passage. To start, we need a logo and/or a website homepage for a documentary in development called Wild Passage. The website front page will help to bring in funds for a full website.

Wild Passage is a one-hour film about a group of teenagers who survive for nearly a month in southern Oregon's remote Three Sisters Wilderness carrying nothing but a blanket and a knife. Is it possible that young people could actually gain something by going back in time before going forward?

Wild Passage is the chronicles a real-life, down-to-earth experience - the intimate interaction of five modern teenagers with the raw forces of nature. Its most powerful statements will be made not through words but through cold winds and thunderstorms, parched lips and growling bellies, close encounters with bears and porcupines - and most likely an unpredictable mix of blood, sweat, laughter and tears.

We have the domain and host but we need time donated on this project. Let me know if you are interested or if you want more information.

Thanks,

PU.Camp

Are you ready for PU.Camp?
As an alternative to the traditional monthly meetings with one speaker, this time we are going to try something new... PU.Camp.

PU.Camp will be a gathering for people to share and learn in an open environment. It will be an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. The format and name are inspired by BarCamp (which was inspired as a complement to FooCamp). Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. When you come, be prepared to share with PU.Campers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
Please submit your idea for a 15-30 minute presentation on any topic to jenblackledge -at- gmail -dot- com. Any topic "of interest" to the web developer audience is welcome; submissions are not limited to technical topics. This will be an exciting and dynamic event for all!

Opportunity with Azteria

I’m bringing on a new client for Azteria that is paying for a dedicated Azteria employee to use our system to recruit to their opportunities. We have been successful for our client where their in-house recruiters haven’t and they are enthusiastic to have someone to delve deeper into call lists for their opportunities. The pay is $30K base with commission that has $100K potential.

I’m looking for a person who is interested in helping to grow the business. Perhaps you’ll know people that are interested in a fun place to work where there is a lot of professional potential. I probably have a month to hire someone.

The position amounts to short term recruiting, but with intelligence, curiosity and passion that will help grow the business and responsibilities long term.

The type of person could be:
  • A recent really bright college graduate, maybe working below their potential in a retail environment
  • A non-working spouse who has done interesting things professionally before moving to Bend for their spouse’s job.
  • Someone who likes positions with a strong commission

The position will include making about 50 phone calls a day with our system. The person will preferably have the temperament and ability to become the trainer/manger for other people to do the same. We sell ‘seats’ to clients and will most likely evolve into a call center-ish type of environment for Healthcare recruiting.

I’m hoping to find someone willing to work in the trenches with me and be able to grow the business. They could easily be someone you like who is a recent, but mature and ambitious college graduate to someone who is very experienced and believes, as I do, that we will become a larger company with financial and professional rewards.

Here’s a link to the job and the description on Craig’s List: http://bend.craigslist.org/bus/575412821.html

Thank you for just considering this and feel free to have people contact me directly.
